Easy Survey Layouts

Confirmit Express

Confirmit offers a very flexible interface for professional survey designers to customize survey layouts. As a result, designers can style their surveys so that they conform to company branding and the desired respondent experience. This design process requires knowledge of Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) and HTML/XHTML.

Confirmit Horizons Version 15 introduces a new ‘Easy Survey Layout’ designer which allows users to carry out simple modifications to Easy Survey Layouts (a new layout type) without requiring any CSS/HTML knowledge.

The Easy Survey Layout designer is available in both Confirmit Professional and Confirmit Express, and allows designers to control:

  • Colors on backgrounds, borders, and fonts.
  • Font type and size, bold and italic.
  • Widths of page, question area, and borders.
  • Progress bar colors.
  • The inclusion and positioning of a company logo.

Improved System Integration with External Respondent Creation

In Confirmit Horizons Version 15, we have introduced ‘External Respondent’, a new survey type that allows you to dynamically and securely create respondents via Web links to a Confirmit survey.

External Respondent is ideal for instances where you do not need to load respondent data into Confirmit before interviewing—for example, if you are using an external panel provider or an external e-mail distribution provider. It allows you to:

  • Avoid creating unnecessary respondent data records in the survey database.
  • Only create respondents when they begin the interview for the first time.
  • Securely pass background data into the new respondent data record. This can then be used within the survey for text piping and survey routing.
  • Enable users to go back to the link to re-enter the same interview, continuing from where it has been left.

This capability is based on an encrypted URL containing a unique respondent identifier to begin a new interview. It is ideal for easy, secure integration with external databases where respondents have a unique respondent identifier, for example, a CRM database or a panel database.

Confirmit Express

Confirmit Express

Confirmit Express is our entry-level survey tool which is ideal for occasional users who wish to develop ad hoc surveys without training or IT involvement. Using Confirmit Express, you can gather feedback at an individual or collaborative level, taking advantage of many of Confirmit Professional’s survey capabilities, to ensure the collection of accurate data.

With Confirmit Horizons Version 15, Confirmit Express has been developed to incorporate a range of new features that make survey creation easier and provide users with wider functionality. These include:

  • Easy Survey Layout designer allowing Express users to control the branding/layout of the surveys.
  • A range of survey template examples.
  • The ability to include a survey ‘back’ button in surveys with skip logic.
  • The inclusion of charts in Express surveys.
  • Additional survey layouts for wider choice.

Accessibility in Surveys

Accessibility support enables users with disabilities to respond to surveys, for example, using assistive technology such as screen readers. Confirmit recognizes that it is important to ensure a broader reach for surveys to obtain more representative and accurate results, to improve response rates, and to comply with accessibility legislation.

In Confirmit Horizons Version 15, we have made improvements to the rendering of Confirmit questionnaires according to the WAI (Web Accessibility Initiative) guidelines. These improvements offer full accessibility support for Confirmit surveys.

In Version 15, it is possible to run surveys in ‘accessibility mode’, in which surveys are rendered without any use of HTML tables. Users can run surveys in this mode only, or in the existing mode only (table-based rendering), or in both modes in parallel so some respondents receive the accessible rendering and some the table-based rendering. The key accessibility improvements within Confirmit Horizons Version 15 include:

  • No use of HTML tables.
  • New, accessible, and easy-to-style navigation buttons and progress bar (which can be used in both modes).
  • All inputs wrapped properly inside <fieldset> with question title, text and/or info as labels in <legend>.
  • New ‘Survey Setting’ property to ‘Set focus on first control on page’ (this avoids having to tab through browser menus if not using a mouse).
